Carol M. Crincoli (Owner & Instructor)
Carol M. Crincoli, Owner of Pure Pilates and CMP Fitness, has been practicing Pilates since 2003 and is a certified Pilates Instructor since 2007 through the PhysicalMind Institute in New York, NY and is certified through the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) since 2007. Carol has done and continues to extensive continuing education in the Pilates field, most notably reformer and tower workshops, core data human anatomy and Pilates for the Fibromyalgia client. Carol is a graduate of the Boston Conservatory of Music with a B.F.A. in Musical Theater and a minor in Dance. She is certified by the American Council on Exercise as a Group Exercise Instructor, Personal Trainer, and a Lifestyle and Weight Management Consultant. This year Carol was accepted into the IDEA-PFT Recognition System as an Elite Level Personal Fitness Trainer.
Carol has been working in the exercise industry since 1990, in the areas of corporate/commercial fitness, recreational programming and was adjunct faculty at Kean University in Union, NJ. By incorporating her love of movement and music, fitness knowledge and her outgoing personality, she brings quality programs for all ages and fitness levels.
Opening Pure Pilates is the culmination of a lifetime dream for Carol. Her desire to "inspire life from the core" incorporates every aspect of well being from exercise, healthy lifestyle and stress management.
Jennylee Cunningham (Instructor)
Jennylee started taking Pilates classes in 2002 when she moved to North Jersey after graduating from Stockton College with her Bachelors in Social Work. While working as a full-time teacher she completed her Mat certification in 2004. Becoming fully certified through the PhysicalMind Institute in September 2006, she quit her job and began her work as a full time Pilates Instructor. Inspired to continue her education, Jennylee currently attends St. Elizabeth College for her Master’s Degree in Nutrition. In her spare time, she trains in NYC at Dancesport as a Latin Ballroom Dancer and competes on the Pro-Am level.
Diana Schlobohm (Instructor)
Diana started taking Pilates classes in 2000 to help with scoliosis in her spine. She soon realized Pilates helped her with other balance and postural issues. Diana became certified in The Method Pilates at the PhysicalMind Institute in August of 2006. She earned her PMA certification in March 2007. Committed to increasing her knowledge and technique, Diana continues to educate herself in continuing education classes that range from Muscular Imbalances, learning the Franklin Method, taking chair and tower workshops and core data human anatomy. Diana believes that teaching people to move properly from their core muscles is paramount to living life to the fullest. Diana and her husband Mark, a chiropractor, have two teenage sons.
Shannon Isaacson (Instructor)
Shannon received her Pilates certification in 1998. She has studied with many Pilates instructors including Kelly Kane from Power Pilates in New York City and Shelly Gyger in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Shannon received her full apparatus certification in Santa Fe, New Mexico at the Physical Mind Institute in 1998 and was then asked back to the school to work with student teachers and clients. She worked closely with the school to help develop a video on the Cadillac that has been used to educate aspiring teachers. In her prior life, she owned and operated a Pilates studio and has worked with hundreds of clients. Today Shannon, when she is not sharing her passion for Pilates at Pure Pilates, spends her time raising her son Jared, along with husband Jordan. Shannon inspires her clients daily to lead healthy, balanced lives. She is so happy to be part of the Pure Pilates family.
Kathy Celardo (Front Desk Manager)
As a physically active and athletic woman, Kathy's passion for running, cycling and outdoor activities have an obvious impact on her positive attitude and energetic demeanor. Her most recent experience, completing in the Key Bank Marathon in Burlington, VT, tops her list of accomplishments ahead of participation in various triathlons, biathlons and other competitions. Her passion for outdoor activity spills into her family's life as well. Kathy's husband and two young sons all enjoy skiing, biking, rock climbing and hiking together. Being an active and physically fit family provides opportunities to spend quality time together enjoying the great outdoors while instilling the importance and advantages of a healthy lifestyle in her children.
Christine Massaro
If she is not behind the desk at Pure Pilates, Christine Massaro can be found volunteering her time with the local PTO on behalf of her two daughters, Rachel (12) and Caitlyn (8). Christine also likes to spend her time being active – walking, swimming, cooking and baking. She and her husband of 17 years Ray, look forward every year to spending time at the Jersey Shore. Ask her the name of the novel she is currently reading – it is sure to be a good one!
Mara Canlas
For those of you joining us for evening classes at Pure Pilates, you will be welcomed by our evening receptionist, Mara. Currently a student at the Newark campus of the Institute for Therapeutic Massage, Mara also sings with the Celebration Singers and the choir at St. Matthew’s in Edison. When not doing bodywork or singing, Mara enjoys reading, hiking, knitting and practicing yoga.
Shelly White
Shelly White is the newest receptionist at Pure Pilates. Formerly an Interiors Project Manager in Healthcare, Shelly is currently pursuing a Master Degree in Social Work at Fordham University which includes an internship at the International Multiple Sclerosis Management Practice.
When not taking Pilates classes, which she likes for how it teaches us how every move we make impacts our bodies, Shelly can be found taking long restorative walks in her Rahway neighborhood.
Look for her on Tuesday evenings and Saturdays. And let her know your favorite book pick, Shelly is an avid reader who just finished The Kite Runner.
